As you know, the figure of women has evolved at breakneck speed in recent years, and today, the concept “empowerment”Resonates frequently in the various spheres of our lives, inevitably linked to two other concepts: feminism and equality.
And it is that WOMEN, with capital letters, want, seek and deserve to be present in the conversations that really matter, contribute and help change the world.
Conversations like the one we organized yesterday in Madrid, together with Vogue. A meeting to discuss the current woman and her right to freely decide if she wants and how she wants to face motherhood. Challenges, limitations, opportunities … And more than 90 women sharing their reflections and perspectives on the evolution and empowerment of women in this demanding society.
We have the participation of great women, on a personal and professional level, different profiles among them, who helped to portray a common reality: the need to know that fertility is expired, that there is a dissociation between social and biological life, and that A woman of the 21st century, in her empowerment process, enters almost without realizing it in her 40s with a problem that will often mark the course of her life.
The social, labor and biological conciliation is the great challenge facing women today. To deal with it, science puts at your disposal a range of possibilities that give you the freedom to decide when, how and if you want to be a mother.
Thus, the doctor Diana Alecsandru, Immunologist at IVI, spoke of the Preservation of Fertility, the second great women’s revolution: “This option is increasingly in demand among the broad group of working women, with a thousand hopes and challenges, who do not want to decide now about their motherhood but who do not want to give it up either. The vitrification of ovules is then erected as an ideal alternative to save that future hope of being mothers with their own gametes ”.
This is the case of Yael Maquieira, make-up artist who is currently experiencing her golden moment in her profession. “It is important that women, when we go for a gynecological examination, we look at our fertility levels. I have done it, which is why this year I have decided to vitrify, even if only for my peace of mind ”.
And it is that the Antimülleriana test (AMH) consists of a blood analysis that allows women to know their ovarian reserve and to be able to plan their reproductive future, an alternative in favor of freedom and the empowerment of women, a #IDecido que seeks equal conditions with measures that facilitate decision-making for women.
Adriana abeniaA successful presenter and mother, for her part, recounted the difficulties in reconciling professional ambition and motherhood: “Society encourages you to be a mother and sometimes you succumb to it. Being a mother is hard, I have rejected jobs because I am with my daughter, a decision that forces you to take on challenges and life in a different way ”.
The debate, masterfully conducted by the journalist Isabel jimenez, also had the collaboration of Marina Conde, designer and creator of the firm La Condesa, who dedicated a few words to those women who are considering being mothers: “Please, forget about being perfect. Forget trying to fulfill an ideal of being a mother that does not exist ”.
The woman of the 21st century is independent, brave, fearless, determined, enterprising, free. He has an immense range of opportunities at his fingertips and he knows how to take advantage of them.
