We usually say that one of the main pillars of IVI’s success is research. Together with training and excellent quality care, at the service of science. For this reason, news like the one we bring you today makes us especially excited. Professors Antonio Pellicer and José Remohí, founders of IVI, have been invested as Doctors honorary cause by European University of Valencia.
Two successful careers
Thus, professors Pellicer and Remohí have also become the first Doctors honorary cause recognized by the European University of Valencia. Coinciding with the tenth anniversary of said institution, the recognition of the founders of IVI takes place at the request of the Faculty of Health Sciences. With this investiture as Doctors honorary cause The two professors are distinguished by their personal and professional trajectories. Both are part of the lists of most relevant scientists and researchers worldwide.
Prof. Pellicer is awarded this recognition for his professional career at the head of IVI, as well as for his excellent contribution to reproductive medicine. His faithful commitment to the profession and to his patients make him a benchmark for new generations.
“IVI began approximately 32 years ago and was built on three fundamental pillars: clinical excellence, education and transmission of knowledge, as well as research. In this sense, everyone will be able to recognize the fundamental values of the University, because all we did was transfer what we learned in the classroom to the company. If one follows the fundamental values that we are taught at the University, one can go further than one can dream of. Being part of the faculty of the European University of Valencia represents an honor and a gratitude that I will carry with me throughout my life”, said Prof. Pellicer.
For its part, the European University of Valencia recognizes Prof. Remohí for his extraordinary scientific career and leadership of IVI. In addition, his professional career is synonymous with ethics and excellence, becoming an example for students and future professionals in the health field.
“The University has been and is the center of knowledge, as well as the engine of Humanity. Therefore, to be part of the faculty of the European University of Valencia is to continue with history, which is a huge honor. On the other hand, the key point in IVI’s success has been surrounding itself with talent and knowing how to retain it, because individually, we could never have come this far. The ‘only’ thing we know how to do is be doctors and for us the achievement is the children that have been born in our clinics”, said Prof. Remohí.
Science at the service of life
Said investiture has happened in a solemn ceremony held in Valencia, the hometown of both. The ceremony was presided over by the rector of the European University of Valencia, Rosa Sanchidrián. In her intervention, he highlighted, regarding the professional career of the doctors, his invaluable contribution to reproductive medicine and society, at the head of IVI. In addition to emphasizing the positive impact that her work has had on the lives of thousands of families around the world.
The rector was accompanied by the general secretary of the European University, Elena de la Fuente, by Santiago Arias -director of the Faculty of Health Sciences- and by the professor of Epidemiology, Patricia Guillem. The praise of the new doctors honorary cause has been in charge of this. “Your presence honors our University, which finds both aspects very difficult to combine today: personal and human excellence. Excellence as doctors, as researchers and as disseminators, in the broadest sense of the term”, Patricia Guillem has extolled. In addition, she has pointed out that “These are two true pioneers and two ahead of their time. His legacy translates not only into human lives, but also into the vast scientific knowledge that future generations of doctors and scientists are already nourished by.” Lastly, the professor added in her praise what “Pellicer and Remohí’s best letter of introduction is the daily work they carry out at the head of IVI, a Spanish and Valencian exponent of what talent, perseverance and the necessary amount of daring and enthusiasm can achieve”.
