As every year, on March 8, International Women’s Day is commemorated. A date marked in red on the calendar, especially in IVI. And it is that one more year we have joined forces with the Adecco Foundationin its Women’s Week 2023. We join it, as a collaborating company, in favor of employment among women at risk of social exclusion in our country.
Promote employment among women at risk of social exclusion
According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), more than 4.5 million women between the ages of 16 and 64 in Spain are in a situation of poverty and social exclusion, mainly due to unemployment. Of particular concern is the 30% of women who, of working age, are at risk of social exclusion. And it is that it is the group of youngest women, between 16 and 29 years old, that presents the highest rates of social exclusion, followed by those over 45 years of age.
The different initiatives that the Adecco Foundation have developed in this women’s week are a more than necessary boost to create awareness of the barriers that some women in our country face when accessing the labor market. Mainly, we join forces to give voice to this problem and promote employment among women who are at risk of exclusion, supporting the tireless work carried out by the Adecco Foundation.
Under the hashtag #EmpleoParaTodas, the Adecco Foundation works with women at risk of social exclusion, such as those with disabilities, the long-term unemployed, victims of gender violence or with family responsibilities that they assume alone. Among these groups of women, the difficulties in achieving stable, regulated and secure employment are especially worrisome, which would provide better living conditions in their lives and the possibility of building a dignified future.
The Adecco Foundation for employability
As we have mentioned, the objective of Women’s Week 2023, of which we are a collaborating company, is to boost the employability ratios of women at risk of exclusion. All this, while raising awareness about the difficulties that these women face in their day to day. To achieve this, throughout this week, the Adecco Foundation has intensified the activity they usually carry out, with orientation, training and mediation work. Nearly 300 women in vulnerable situations have been able to benefit from these actions, in favor of their labor inclusion. As? Through workshops and working groups in our country.
IVI & Adecco Foundation: “Influencer of exclusion”
Thanks to the collaboration of IVI and the rest of the collaborating companies, the Adecco Foundation has created and disseminated an audiovisual piece that complements the rest of the actions mentioned. The Adecco Foundation campaign, called “Influencer of exclusion”, tells the story of Martina, a 38-year-old single mother who shares her experience on social networks about her job search, recipes for food use, among others , to help other women save and look for work online.
IVI next to women
In our company, the full labor inclusion of women is understood as a priority. For this reason, for yet another year we have joined this interesting initiative of the Adecco Foundation, within the framework of our equality policy. Specifically, we work hard on the Sustainable Development Goal 5: ‘Gender Equality’, United Nations. IVI was founded more than 3 decades ago with a clear focus on women and their desire for motherhood. This is what gives meaning to our daily activity, carried out 85% by the women who make up our workforce at a global level. Always with the aim of accompanying women and couples on their way to motherhood through assisted reproduction.
