A journey that begins even before a patient enters our centers, through our internal processes and our commitment to our professionals, always placing each patient at the center of our activity.
And this path continues, it goes further. Once our patients leave our clinics, we continue to create a legacy through our commitment to social projects that solve the problems that concern us as a society. From the roots of that path our commitments are born. And is that at IVIRMA we care and commit ourselves to the present and the future.
Commitment to patients
They are the beginning and end of everything. In this sense, our fundamental objective as a company is to bring reproductive medicine to any part of the world so that all people can fulfill their dream of having a child. In fact, the satisfaction and happiness of our patients are the daily engine of our activity. Any action taken in the company is designed by and for our patients: your safety and well-being always comes first.
Our goal is to be a benchmark in healthcare quality, focusing on the identification, analysis and elimination of any risk. The shared medical decision, as well as the creation of a safe environment and process for the patient, implementing the controls, indicators and reviews necessary to notify, prevent and mitigate the identified risks, are part of the pillars of our service in search of the excellence and highest quality.
This commitment stems from our values and extends to all areas of the company. Our Patient Experience project, launched in 2018, is proof that the patient is at the center of everything we do at IVIRMA.
In addition, it is a priority for us to listen to you, our patients, to improve our processes through specific procedures to deal with claims or complaints and to measure your satisfaction. Through our corporate channels we interact daily with all of you and those interested in our work. They are for us a fundamental channel for the dissemination of content related to our activity, as well as the main forum for collecting the needs, demands and concerns of users.
Commitment to our professionals
At IVIRMA, each working person is unique and their contribution to our mission is essential for the success of our work. Thus, we manage our human team in a responsible way and promote social actions and projects where they are the protagonists. Some of the compromises acquired with our professionals are:
- Job stability: in our company we are committed to stable employment, working to achieve continuity and stability for working people. In this sense, 85% of working people as of December 2018 have a permanent contract.
- Conciliation and organization of work: as a family-responsible company, at IVIRMA we favor the reconciliation of the personal and professional life of our staff, promoting shared responsibility, equal opportunities and diversity.
- Promoting diversity. This section highlights the Family Plan: social and labor insertion program promoted together with the Adecco Foundation to promote the integration of employees’ family members with disabilities.
Commitment to society
We want a fairer place, with the same opportunities and rights. The IVI Foundation is the institution that materializes this commitment and is made up of 3 areas:
- Investigation (area Innovation): Scientific innovation, avant-garde and excellence.
More than 500 potential researchers, 15 different lines of research and 400 active research projects underway – from all the areas that make up assisted human reproduction – and 1,900 publications in scientific journals until the end of 2018.
- Knowledge (area Global Education):
At IVIRMA we have the IVI Global Education educational institution, through which we offer a wide range of master’s degrees and specialized courses, with the aim of training and updating all professionals interested in this branch of knowledge. The educational system is characterized by the excellence of the training programs it offers, constantly updated and based on cutting-edge technology.
- Social action (Sustainability and CSR area): Our social commitment stems from our values. Among the social projects, the following stand out:
- Preservation of fertility for oncological reasons: In 2008, the free fertility preservation program for cancer patients was launched, which is carried out in Spain, Portugal and Italy. Since then, 25 babies have come into the world after their mothers and fathers beat cancer and 4 more are due to be born in 2019.
- Teaming: € 1 donation from the monthly payroll of professionals for social projects. The money obtained is doubled by the company and among all the professionals the winning projects of the Teaming are chosen.
- Social aid to NGOs: annually we collaborate with civil society organizations through donations within the areas of health, women and children.
- Corporate challenge “Stronger Together”: challenge through which all the professionals of the company travel 10,000 km and each km is transformed into a dollar by IVIRMA for the benefit of a social project.
Commitment to the Environment
We are concerned about the environment because we want our children, and those of our patients, to be happy and live in the healthiest environment possible. Therefore, at IVIRMA we are committed to the future: The Environment is a crucial area for our operations today and tomorrow.
IVIRMA’s Environmental strategy is based on ensuring that the planet is in balance through concrete actions to reduce our environmental footprint. Preservation and respect are basic pillars of our action, which is manifested in compliance with the best environmental practices in all the activities carried out by IVIRMA, and is thus included in our code of ethics and conduct.
Regarding the environmental effects due to the generation of waste, at IVIRMA we have a waste management procedure that applies to Spain and Portugal, the objective of which is to protect the health of patients, workers and people who handle waste, and reduce to the maximum the risks of dissemination of infectious diseases or chemical contamination of the Environment.
Finally, IVIRMA is carrying out actions aimed at reducing paper consumption, such as the implantation of the biometric signature and the patient portal.
The biometric signature will allow the patient to sign the documentation on a tablet, generating an electronic file with the signature. In order to avoid the printing of documents, as well as to guarantee the security and confidentiality of the information shared with patients, at IVIRMA we have a patient portal where the most relevant information from the medical history is shared.
We are concerned about the world we leave behind, so we reinforce our commitment to Sustainability day by day under the motto “We innovate with heart to create meaningful lives”.
